CTMN Centre de transfert en micro & nanotechnologies, France

The CTMN (Transfer Centre for Micro- and Nanotechnologies) is a research association for working on technology transfer from the University towards industry. CTMN works with many Universities and companies in France, in Europe and in the world. Together with the FEMTO-ST laboratories of the University of Franche-Comté (mainly with the department Laboratory for Physics and Metrology of the Oscillators – LPMO), CTMN carries out the development of micro systems. In accordance with the watch tradition and the knowledge of the region of Franche-Comté, CTMN associates the techniques derived from the micro electronics with those resulting from the watch industry. The combination of these technology areas allows the development of electromagnetic and piezoelectric micro actuators, micro sensors, micro mechanisms and instrumentation. An autonomous intestinal one-way capsule for sampling of intestinal content and drugs delivery has been developed by CTMN, in collaboration with the LPMO, in the frame of an INTERREG European program associating Swiss and French Universities and companies. The main innovative aspects of this device are its simple and precise telemetry system and the ability of carrying out the sampling and release functions more times during the gastro intestinal tract.
